The book and library tiers ($19 Early Bird eBook, $25 eBook plus updates, $47 eBook plus 12 months of AiBook.fun, $55 signed paperback, $85 Collector's Bundle) were grouped under "Cloud". WeOwn Cloud is a separate product, so the bucket is now "Book & Library" everywhere. Sentences that called Cloud the do-it-yourself path now describe the Book & Library tiers plainly. Prices, dates and other content are unchanged. The .docx is regenerated from the fixed Markdown with v2/build_docx.py (same page map, 36 pages).

We Own AI — The New American Dream
Kickstarter Campaign Guide
Version 2. Prepared Friday 25 September 2026 (WAT) for Osinachi Patrick, Product Lead, BurnedOut Media / WeOwnNet.
Draft being updated: kickstarter.com/projects/weown/771866266 (private preview). Reference campaign: Onryō: First Seal by Lemery Games.
This version replaces version 1 of the same date.
Part 1. Start here
1.1 What this document is
This guide takes our Kickstarter draft from where it stands today to a page that can be submitted for review and launched on Friday 2 October 2026. For each tab of the Kickstarter editor it gives the settings to use and the exact text to paste. It then lists the images to produce, a day-by-day launch checklist, and the decisions only the owner can make.
It draws on the owner-approved decisions of 23 September 2026 (ks-research/kickstarter-filled-form.md), the campaign blueprint, the AiBook.fun product plan, the draft preview, and the Onryō: First Seal page, our model for structure.
1.2 Decisions and actions needed this week
The draft is not ready to go live. It has no project image and no rewards, the FAQ is empty, the end date is a day earlier than the approved plan, and the story contains a sentence that has to come off the page. Kickstarter says manual review usually takes up to about three business days, so the draft must be submitted by Monday 28 September at the latest for a 2 October launch. Submitting today is better; the page can still be edited while it is in review.
Decisions for the owner
| # | Decision | Our recommendation | Needed by |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | When the campaign ends | A fixed end date of Wed 4 Nov 2026 at 8:00 PM ET (Thu 5 Nov, 2:00 AM WAT). See section 2.1. | Before launch |
| 2 | Retreat and Academy prices, dates, and seat limits | Set them now; no tier can go live with a placeholder price. If not ready, launch with the Book & Library tiers and add these later. | Before those tiers go live |
| 3 | Whether the Retreat runs if the campaign misses its goal, and when Retreat pledges close | Decide now. Close Retreat pledges on Fri 30 Oct. See section 2.1. | Before launch |
| 4 | Who delivers the AiCoach + AOP.biz BootCamp | List the Academy only if our team, or a named collaborator on the project, runs it. | Before submitting |
| 5 | The signed paperback price | Set it once all costs are known, or add the paperback after launch. | Before that tier goes live |
| 6 | The reward structure | Six tiers plus add-ons (optional extras a backer can attach to a tier). See section 2.2. | Before submitting |
Actions and dates

| Press Launch (Kickstarter does not launch automatically) | Account holder | Fri 2 Oct, 6:00 AM ET (11:00 AM WAT) |
If approval or Stripe verification is missing at the go or no-go call, move the launch to Fri 9 Oct and the end date to Wed 11 Nov.
Other changes to the page
- Change the eBook delivery month from October 2026, which is before the campaign ends, to January 2027 (section 2.2).
- Use a plain title, subtitle, and creator name, with no emoji, the spelling "AI", and no "[BOOK]" tag (section 2.1).
- Rebuild the story as the sixteen sections in section 2.3, and remove the sentence calling the library "not an annual reprint and not a token".
- Show only proof we can stand behind: a free sample workflow, named authors with photos, and quotes from early readers who agreed in writing.
1.3 How to read this guide
Paste boxes (shaded, labeled "Paste into Kickstarter") hold final copy. Placeholders such as [TO FILL: description], highlighted yellow in Word, mark missing facts; each traces back to a decision in Part 4, and none may be visible at launch. Graphic notes are briefs for the designer and are not pasted.
Times are in US Eastern Time (ET), where most backers are, and West Africa Time (WAT). US clocks go back an hour on Sunday 1 November: until then ET is 5 hours behind WAT, and from then on it is 6 hours behind.
Kickstarter terms:
- All-or-nothing: backers are charged only if the goal is reached by the end date.
- Reward tier: a pledge level with a fixed price and reward.
- Add-on: an optional extra attached to a tier, such as a paperback added to a digital reward.
- Late pledges: backing on the project page after the campaign ends, at prices we set per tier.
- Pledge Manager: Kickstarter's post-campaign tool for surveying backers, collecting addresses and shipping, and taking extra orders.
- Pre-launch page: the public page before launch, with a "Notify me on launch" button.
Part 2 covers the page tab by tab, Part 3 the assets and launch checklist, and Part 4 the open owner decisions. The appendices compare our page with Onryō's and explain the reasoning.
Part 2. The campaign page, tab by tab
Kickstarter's editor has the tabs Basics, Rewards, Story, People, Payment, and Promotion; some accounts also show Funding and Preferences separately. Risks and Use of AI are filled in with the Story. The FAQ and Updates open once the project is live. Publishing projects have no Plan tab or Project Budget sheet. Every required tab must be complete before Submit for review.
2.1 Basics
Project title
The current title has two emoji, spells the word "Ai", and ends with a "[BOOK]" tag. Remove all three. People search with words, and the category already says it is a book. The project URL is generated from the title and afterwards only Kickstarter support can change it. "AI" is the spelling on the book; "Ai" belongs to AiBook.fun. A plain title also reads as a serious book to advisors.
Paste into Kickstarter (Project title, 34 of 60 characters)
We Own AI — The New American Dream
Creator name
The creator name appears beside the title everywhere, including search results. Remove the infinity emoji and use "WeOwnNet" or "BurnedOut Media / WeOwnNet". [TO FILL: choice of creator name]
Subtitle
The current subtitle, "A field book for professionals who want to own the AI era, not rent it", is a slogan. Replace it with a description of what the backer gets.
Paste into Kickstarter (Subtitle, 127 of 135 characters)
A field book for advisors and professionals: tested AI workflows, clear guardrails, and a companion library that stays current.
A shorter alternative (103 characters): "A multi-author field book for advisors, with tested AI workflows and a companion library at AiBook.fun."
Category and location
- Category: Publishing, subcategory Nonfiction (already set). Leave the optional second category empty.
- Location: North Denver, Denver, CO (already set), which matches the #NoDe Academy site. The funds must go to a person or company verified in a supported country, which here means a US entity. [TO FILL: US legal entity name and address for Stripe]
Project image
The image is the page hero, the search thumbnail, and the share preview, so it must read at small size. Export at 1920 × 1080 (16:9), JPG or PNG, under 50 MB.
Graphic note: The book mockup on a desk beside a laptop showing an AiBook.fun chapter page. One banner of six words or fewer, such as "The book, the Retreat, the Academy", and three round icons: "Multi-author", "Tested workflows", "Library updated often". No prices or small print. Caption a rendered mockup "Cover mockup" in the story. [TO FILL: confirm the final cover]
Project video (optional)
Submit without it if it is not ready. @THY records and @LFG edits 2 to 3 minutes with captions, plus a 60 to 90 second vertical cut. No numbers that are not on the page, no testimonials without written consent, no talk of financial returns.
| Time | Beat | Suggested line |
|---|---|---|
| 0:00 | @THY to camera | "If you advise clients for a living, AI has already changed your week." |
| 0:15 | The problem | "The tools change every month, and the time to learn them comes out of your evenings." |
| 0:40 | The book: cover, pages, one workflow | "Each chapter walks through workflows you can run, with the safeguards written before the steps." |
| 1:10 | A Try-it on AiBook.fun, on screen | "This one takes about fifteen minutes. You'll see the output, the cost, and where a person checks it." |
| 1:30 | The three ways to back | "Join us at the Retreat, take a BootCamp seat, or start with the eBook and a year of the library." |
| 2:00 | Each author, with a name caption | Each author gives their name and one line about their work. |
| 2:15 | @THY to camera, aibook.fun on screen | "Our goal is five thousand dollars. If we don't reach it, no one is charged." |
Funding goal
$5,000 USD, all-or-nothing, entered in Basics or Funding depending on the editor version. It cannot be changed after launch.
Campaign end date
The preview says the project must reach its goal "by Tue, November 3 2026 11:59 PM CET". Kickstarter shows the viewer's time zone, and the preview was opened at UTC+1, so the deadline is Tuesday 3 November at 5:59 PM ET (11:59 PM WAT). That is almost a day short of the approved 33 days, 2 October to 4 November. The duration locks at launch.
| Option | Setting | Result | Drawback |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Recommended. Fixed end: Wed 4 Nov, 8:00 PM ET (Thu 5 Nov, 2:00 AM WAT) | Ends on the planned day, in the US evening | If launch slips to 9 Oct, change the end to Wed 11 Nov by hand |
| B | 33 days | A 6:00 AM ET launch ends at about 5:00 AM ET on 4 Nov, because US clocks change on 1 Nov | Ends before most US backers are awake |
| C | Keep Tue 3 Nov, 5:59 PM ET | The team is free on 4 Nov, the Retreat's first day | About 32 days; does not match the plan |
Recommendation: Option A, ending at [TO FILL: end time; we suggest 8:00 PM ET]. Option C is the reasonable alternative if the owner wants the campaign closed before the Retreat opens.
The Retreat and the last day. The Burned Out Advisor Retreat runs 4 to 6 November, so it opens on the campaign's final day. Kickstarter charges backers when the campaign ends and pays creators about 14 days later, around 18 November, so Retreat costs must be paid first. If the campaign misses $5,000, no Retreat backer is charged at all. The final-day posts should be scheduled in advance, with different people covering the campaign and the Retreat. If launch slips to 9 October, the Retreat would happen before anyone is charged; in that case, remove the Retreat tier and sell seats directly.
We recommend closing the Retreat tier on Friday 30 October so the venue has a fixed list, messaging each Retreat backer within 48 hours with a registration link, and stating on the page whether the Retreat runs if the campaign does not fund. [TO FILL: Retreat pledge cutoff; we suggest Fri 30 Oct 2026] [TO FILL: Retreat rule if the campaign does not fund]
Target launch date, late pledges, and URL
- Target launch date: Fri 2 Oct 2026. It only helps Kickstarter plan its review. Someone with account access must press Launch on the day.
- Late pledges: turn on before launch; they cannot be turned on after the campaign ends. Each tier then gets its own late pledge setting (section 2.2).
- Website: https://aibook.fun
- Project URL: generate it in Promotion after approval. The expected ending is we-own-ai-the-new-american-dream.
2.2 Rewards
How the rewards are organized
On 23 September the owner approved three reward buckets, all as live tiers: the Retreat (the Burned Out Advisor Retreat), the Academy (AiCoach + AOP.biz BootCamp seats), and Book & Library (the book and the AiBook.fun online library).
The form pack has nine tiers; Kickstarter's handbook suggests five or fewer for a first project. We recommend six plus add-ons, keeping all three buckets visible:
Book & Library
- Tier 1: Early Bird eBook, $19, first 200 backers only
- Tier 2: Digital Supporter, $25
- Tier 3: Digital Access Subscription, $47 (featured reward)
- Tier 4: Signed Paperback, $55 (placeholder price)
Retreat
- Tier 5: Burned Out Advisor Retreat, [TO FILL: Retreat price]
Academy
- Tier 6: Academy BootCamp seat, [TO FILL: Academy price]
Add-ons: a signed paperback, collector's extras, and, if the owner wants it, a gift year of AiBook.fun.
Three changes from the form pack produce this list:
- The Collector's Bundle ($85 placeholder) becomes an add-on, "Collector's extras" (a signed bookplate and a chapter-notes PDF), since it differed from the paperback only by those items. Keeping it as a tier gives seven, which also works.
- The three Academy site tiers become one, with the site chosen in the post-campaign survey. This works only if the price is the same at every site. Keep three tiers if prices, seat limits, or dates differ, because Kickstarter enforces a limit on each tier but cannot enforce one on a survey answer.
- The Retreat tier is slimmed to the seat, the eBook, and 12 months of AiBook.fun, with the paperback as an add-on, so Retreat backers need no shipping address. [TO FILL: approve slimming, or keep the paperback in the Retreat tier]
To get to five tiers, drop Digital Supporter. The cost is that once the 200 Early Bird copies are gone, there is no eBook-only option until late pledges open.
Items to create first
Create these items before the tiers, each with a 3:2 image exported at 1200 × 800:
- eBook (PDF and Kindle)
- Signed paperback
- 12 months of AiBook.fun access
- Signed bookplate, signed by [TO FILL: which authors sign]
- Chapter-notes PDF
- Burned Out Advisor Retreat seat (4 to 6 November 2026)
- Academy BootCamp seat
Delivery dates and shipping for all tiers
- eBook: January 2027. The form pack says October 2026, which is before the campaign ends. The production plan has final eBook files on Friday 15 January 2027. [TO FILL: eBook delivery month, if earlier than January 2027]
- Signed paperback: February 2027.
- AiBook.fun access: within about 14 days of a successful campaign, so by mid-November 2026.
- A tier's estimated delivery is the month its last item arrives. Digital tiers are set to "No shipping"; physical items follow section 2.9.

- The backer gets: the eBook (PDF and Kindle)
- Quantity limit: 200
- Available: from launch until sold out
- Estimated delivery: January 2027

The eBook plus 12 months of access to the AiBook.fun library. The library holds the book's workflows and new ones as we publish them, and we update it as tools and models change, often weekly or monthly. This assumes the backer chooses to renew at aibook.fun at $47 a year. [TO FILL: confirm how renewal works]
Tier 4: Signed Paperback, $55 (placeholder price)

Firm and team orders
Onryō offers retailers wholesale pricing. Our equivalent is firms wanting several copies or seats: the Shipping section and FAQ invite them to email us, and we handle them after the campaign. Publish no discount unless the owner sets one.
2.3 Story
How to build the story
Enter each section title as a Heading in the Story editor; Kickstarter turns headings into the page's table of contents, as on Onryō's page. Under each heading, insert the section's header graphic (1360 pixels wide), then paste the text. Keep the emoji in the section headings: they help people scan the contents list, and they are the only emoji on the page.
The story editor has no table tool, so everything is written as paragraphs and lists, and comparisons are shown as graphics. The sixteen sections follow Onryō's order, adapted to a book with three ways to back.
Section 1: Welcome

👋 Welcome
We Own AI — The New American Dream is a field book for advisors who want to use AI in their practice in ways they control. It is written by [TO FILL: number] authors who use these methods in their own work, and published by BurnedOut Media / WeOwnNet.
Each chapter explains an approach to a kind of professional work and then walks through workflows you can run yourself, with the safeguards set out before the steps. The same workflows are online at AiBook.fun, where we keep them up to date as the tools change.
This campaign funds the first edition. You can back it in three ways, described below: a seat at the Burned Out Advisor Retreat (4 to 6 November 2026), a seat in the next AiCoach + AOP.biz BootCamp cohort, or one of the Book & Library rewards, from the $19 eBook to a year of the AiBook.fun library at $47.
Our goal is $5,000. Kickstarter is all-or-nothing: if we reach the goal by [TO FILL: end date and time, for example Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 8:00 PM ET], backers are charged and we deliver the rewards. If we do not reach it, nobody is charged.

❤️ Why this book
Advisors hear a great deal about AI. What most of them need is something they can use on Monday morning.
- Too much noise. Each week brings a new tool and a new prediction, and very little of it fits a real client file.
- Processes you don't control. When your process lives inside a vendor's product, a price change or a feature change can undo it.
- No time to learn. The job already takes up the evenings, and learning AI on top of it feels like a second job.
- Clients are changing. Firms and clients are changing how they work faster than most playbooks are updated.
We wrote this book to answer a practical question: what can an advisor set up this month, safely, and still control next year? Each workflow shows the actual steps, the actual output, what it cost, and where a person has to check the work.
Section 3: Who it's for
Graphic note: Two audience cards, "Accounting advisors: Exit to Client" and "Financial advisors: CKA® and CEPA® focus", with a smaller third card, "Other professionals who advise clients".

🎯 Who it's for
We wrote this book mainly for two groups of readers.
Accounting advisors exploring Exit to Client. [TO FILL: one or two sentences defining Exit to Client as the authors use it.] The book shows how AI workflows can support that work while your client relationships stay with you.
Financial advisors focused on CKA® and CEPA® work. If your practice centers on values-based planning or on helping business owners plan an exit, the workflows cover the document-heavy, time-consuming parts of that work, with the checks a regulated practice needs.
It will also help other professionals who advise clients, such as fractional executives and consultants. [TO FILL: confirm the chapter subjects so this line matches the book.]
The book does not give regulated financial, legal, or tax advice, and it does not replace your own professional judgment.
CKA® and CEPA® are designations of their respective organizations. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Keep the last sentence unless there is a real affiliation to name. [TO FILL: confirm no affiliation with the CKA® or CEPA® organizations]

📖 What's inside
The book is a set of chapter essays. Each chapter takes one area of professional work, explains how the authors approach it, and places complete workflows at the points in the argument where they belong.
Every workflow follows the same recipe:
- The problem: the real task it solves.
- Who runs it: a person, a role, or an AI agent working under a person's supervision.
- Setup: the tools, sample files, and expected cost.
- Safeguards: how to handle client data, where a person must review the work, and what can go wrong. These come before the steps, so you read them before you paste anything.
- The steps, with the actual output the tools produced.
- Evidence: what the result looked like when we ran it.
- Try it: a short exercise of about 15 minutes, using sample data.
- Costs, author, and sources.
Chapters: [TO FILL: final chapter list with the lead author of each]
Format: a [TO FILL: page count and trim size] paperback, and an eBook in PDF and Kindle formats.
Excerpt: [TO FILL: link to, or image of, a chapter excerpt]
The product plan's working chapter subjects are Real Estate, Financial Advisors, Fractional C-Suite, Higher Education, Communities, and Technology. Confirm which are in the first edition.
Section 5: Try one workflow
This is our version of Onryō's "How to play" and "Rulebook". The strongest proof we can offer before anyone reads the book is a workflow they can run, so publish one before launch.

🧪 Try one workflow
You can judge the book for yourself before you back it. Here is one complete workflow from the book, free to read and run: [TO FILL: public URL of the sample workflow on aibook.fun]
It takes about 15 minutes with the sample data provided. The rest of the book works the same way.

📚 Book & Library and AiBook.fun
The Book & Library rewards are for people who want to learn Responsible Agentic AI from the book on their own schedule. They start with the eBook, and the $47 reward adds a year of the AiBook.fun library.
What AiBook.fun is. AiBook.fun is the online home of the book's workflows. You read a chapter, then run a workflow's Try-it exercise with sample data. Each workflow shows its version and the date it was last updated.
How it stays current. We update workflows as tools and models change, often weekly or monthly. Access costs $47 a year. Your Kickstarter pledge covers the first 12 months, starting within about 14 days of a successful campaign. After that you can choose to renew at aibook.fun.
Your data. We record when you open or complete a workflow so we can improve the library. We never collect the content of your client work, and the workflows use sample data only.
Section 10: Stretch goals
Graphic note: A progress bar with padlocks at $15,000, $35,000, and $54,000, plus an "unlocked" version of each.

🎁 Stretch goals
Our goal is $5,000. If we pass it, backers receive the following extras. None of them delays the main rewards.
- $15,000: Bonus chapter. An extra chapter as a PDF for every backer whose reward includes the eBook.
- $35,000: Audiobook sample. One chapter recorded as audio, for every backer.
- $54,000: Live Q&A replay pack. A recording of a live question-and-answer session with the authors, for every backer.
[TO FILL: confirm Early Bird backers receive the bonus chapter (we recommend yes), and who narrates the audiobook sample]

⏳ Timeline
- Friday 2 October 2026: the campaign opens.
- Wednesday 4 November 2026: the campaign ends at [TO FILL: end time]. The Burned Out Advisor Retreat runs from 4 to 6 November.
- By mid-November 2026: AiBook.fun access for backers whose reward includes it, and the backer survey.
- [TO FILL: cohort dates]: Academy BootCamp cohorts in Orlando, North Denver, and Villa Park.
- January 2027: final layout and eBook files; the eBook is delivered and the paperbacks are signed.
- February 2027: signed paperbacks are delivered.
We will post an update at each step and whenever a date changes.
Section 12: Shipping and delivery
Graphic note: Two lanes: digital (email, library access, eBook) and print (survey, printing, signing, shipping).
Paste into Kickstarter
📦 Shipping and delivery
Digital rewards arrive by email. Library access goes to the email address on your Kickstarter account within about 14 days of a successful campaign. The eBook follows in January 2027.
Signed paperbacks ship in February 2027. After the campaign, Kickstarter's Pledge Manager will ask for your address and charge shipping and any taxes for your destination.
Where we ship: [TO FILL: list of countries]. Books ship from [TO FILL: fulfillment location].
Firm and team orders: if you would like several copies or seats for your firm, email [TO FILL: contact email] and we will arrange it after the campaign.
If shipping is charged at pledge time (section 2.9), end the second paragraph with "Shipping is added at checkout based on your country." instead.
Section 13: Early readers
Onryō's strongest proof is reviewer videos and past-backer quotes; we have neither. Publish only quotes early readers approve in writing, with real names and roles. If none are ready at launch, add this section later in an update.
Graphic note: Quote cards with photo, quote, name, and role.

Section 16: How to help
Paste into Kickstarter
📣 How to help
- Back the project at the level that suits you.
- Share it with two advisors who would use it.
- Follow our progress at aibook.fun between now and delivery.
Sections we are leaving out
- Give back. Onryō donates copies to community groups; our equivalent could be donated AiBook.fun access for students at a named school or nonprofit. Donating funds must be disclosed at submission, so leave it out unless the owner commits. [TO FILL: give-back section, yes or no, and the organization]
- Languages. The first edition is English only, as the FAQ says.
- Free shipping. Onryō's cross-promotion with a sister campaign has no equivalent for us.
2.4 Risks and challenges
Kickstarter requires this section.
Paste into Kickstarter (Risks and challenges)
This is our first Kickstarter campaign. These are the risks we see and what we are doing about each one.
Printing and shipping costs. Paper, printing, and postage prices can change before February 2027. The February date includes spare time, and digital rewards arrive first. If a printer or carrier delay comes up, we will post the new date that week.
Writing and editing with several authors. Coordinating [TO FILL: number] authors can slow a chapter down. Our founding writers are under contract with fixed deadlines, and the production plan finishes layout in January 2027, leaving time before the February delivery.
The Retreat takes place as the campaign ends. The Retreat runs from 4 to 6 November, and the campaign ends on [TO FILL: end date]. Kickstarter charges backers when the campaign ends and pays creators about two weeks later, so we pay Retreat costs in advance. Retreat pledges close on [TO FILL: Retreat pledge cutoff] so we can confirm numbers with the venue. If events outside our control force a change of date or venue, the terms in the Retreat section apply.
Academy cohorts in three cities. Running cohorts at three sites adds scheduling risk. Seats are limited at each site, and if a site cannot run, you can move to another site or receive a refund of the Academy portion.
The online library. AiBook.fun access depends on our own platform. We will issue access within about 14 days of a successful campaign. If a technical problem delays it, we will tell you in an update and extend your 12 months by the length of the delay.
Fast-changing AI tools. Some workflows will need updating soon after publication. This is why the library exists: we update workflows as tools and models change, and each one shows the date it was last checked.
Team time. One small team runs the campaign, the Retreat, and the book, so the work is divided among named people and the final days are scheduled in advance.
Refunds. [TO FILL: refund policy]
We will post an update at least [TO FILL: how often; we suggest monthly] until every reward has been delivered.
Confirm this is the team's first campaign. A possible refund structure, for the owner to decide: full refunds within a set number of days after the campaign, none for digital rewards once access is issued, and Retreat and Academy refunds per those sections.
2.5 Use of AI
Kickstarter asks about AI use at submission and shows a public "Use of AI" section. AI used as a tool with clear human authorship is allowed; heavy AI use with little human involvement is not. Suggested answers to the submission questions:
| Question | Suggested answer |
|---|---|
| Does the project use AI to generate content? | Yes, as an assistant for research, outlining, and editing suggestions. The workflows show real AI tool output, which is the subject of the book. |
| Are you developing AI technology? | No. The book documents how to use existing AI tools. [TO FILL: confirm AiBook.fun does not train or ship its own model] |
| Which tools? | [TO FILL: the main assistants and models the authors and workflows use] |
| What is original human work? | The chapter essays, the choice and testing of every workflow, the safeguards, the final text, and every factual claim. |
| Consent from the owners of works used to train or produce the AI portion | We do not train models. Workflow examples use sample data that we created or have permission to use. |
| AI-generated images? | [TO FILL: yes or no; if yes, label those images as mockups on the page] |
Paste into Kickstarter (Use of AI)
We use AI tools in three ways, and people remain responsible for all of it.
- Writing support. Authors use AI assistants for research, outlines, and editing suggestions. Every chapter is written, edited, and fact-checked by the named authors.
- Workflow examples. The book teaches AI workflows, so many pages show real output from AI tools. Each example names the tool used and was run and checked by its author.
- Campaign images. [TO FILL: "Our campaign graphics were made by our designer." or "Some campaign graphics and mockups were made with AI image tools and are labeled as mockups."]
We do not train AI models, and we do not use client data in any example.
2.6 Environmental commitments (optional)
This section is aimed mainly at Design and Technology projects; Onryō shows three commitments. If the editor offers it, include only statements that are true, or leave it empty.
- Sustainable distribution: "Digital rewards are our default. Every tier includes the eBook, and most backers need nothing shipped." True for the recommended tiers.
- Reusability and recyclability: "We size the print run to paperback pledges plus a small reserve." Only once the print approach is confirmed. [TO FILL: short print run or print-on-demand]
- Sustainable materials: "Paperbacks are printed on recycled or certified paper and shipped in recyclable mailers." Only if the printer offers it. [TO FILL: paper and mailers]
2.7 People
Paste into Kickstarter (creator bio)
BurnedOut Media / WeOwnNet publishes practical books and programs for advisors and professionals working with AI. We are building We Own AI — The New American Dream and the AiBook.fun library in public, with a team of founding authors. Website: aibook.fun
Profile photo: the WeOwnNet logo or a team photo, at least 400 × 400 pixels. Website: https://aibook.fun. Social links: [TO FILL: LinkedIn company page and other active accounts]. The demographic survey is optional.
Collaborators each need their own Kickstarter account and are listed publicly.
| Person | Suggested permissions |
|---|---|
| @LFG | Edit project; manage community (updates and comments) |
| @THY | Edit project; manage community |
| @GTM | Coordinate fulfillment (surveys and backer report); Pledge Manager |
| @CEO | View analytics |
| Osinachi Patrick | Edit project; view analytics |
[TO FILL: confirm the collaborator list and each person's Kickstarter account email]
2.8 Funding and payment
Goal and fees
- Goal: $5,000 USD, all-or-nothing. It is locked once the campaign launches.
- Fees in the US: Kickstarter takes 5% of the total raised, and payment processing costs 3% plus $0.30 per pledge (pledges under $10 are charged 5% plus $0.08). There are no fees if the campaign does not reach its goal. At exactly $5,000 from 100 pledges, about $4,570 would arrive before any other costs.
- Stretch goals live in the story; there is no field for them.
- Budget: the figures in the AiBook.fun product plan are internal and must not be published. Once the owner decides how the $5,000 will be spent, add this line to the Welcome section or the FAQ:
Paste into Kickstarter (after filling)
The $5,000 goal covers [TO FILL: for example editing, layout, cover design, the first print run, and AiBook.fun hosting for backers]. Anything above the goal funds the stretch goals and more workflows in the library.
Stripe verification checklist (owner only)
This blocks launch. Start it today, because verification can take several business days.
- Raise funds as a business or an individual (hard to change later). [TO FILL: business or individual]
- US legal entity name, address, and EIN exactly as on tax documents.
- A representative who is an owner or executive running the project, with government ID.
- Every beneficial owner with 25% or more.
- The website (https://aibook.fun) or a short product description.
- A US checking account in the same legal name (no savings or virtual accounts).
- A backup Visa, Mastercard, or American Express card (not Discover).
- Stripe showing as verified in the editor.
Nigeria is not a supported creator country, so the US entity and a US-based representative must complete this.
2.9 Shipping
Recommendation: collect shipping after the campaign through Kickstarter's Pledge Manager.
The form pack suggested charging shipping at pledge time once rates exist, but no print or shipping quotes have come in, and nothing physical ships until February 2027. The Pledge Manager lets the paperback go live without guessed rates, and it is how Onryō handles shipping and taxes. Check its current fees in the editor first. Charging at pledge time instead needs countries and rates for every physical tier and add-on before launch. Either way, the paperback price must be final before that tier goes live. [TO FILL: Pledge Manager after the campaign, or rates at pledge time]
2.10 FAQ
The FAQ usually opens only once the project is live. Add these in the first hour, one question and answer per entry, and keep adding questions from the comments.
Paste into Kickstarter (FAQ, eighteen entries)
When will I get my rewards? AiBook.fun access within about 14 days of a successful campaign, the eBook in January 2027, and signed paperbacks in February 2027. The Retreat runs from 4 to 6 November 2026, and Academy cohorts on [TO FILL: cohort dates].
What happens if the campaign doesn't reach $5,000? Nobody is charged. Kickstarter collects pledges only if the goal is reached by [TO FILL: end date and time].
When is my card charged? When the campaign ends, on [TO FILL: end date]. If your card is declined, Kickstarter will ask you to update it.
What is the Digital Access Subscription, and what happens after 12 months? It is the eBook plus 12 months of access to the AiBook.fun library, which holds the book's workflows and new ones as we publish them, updated as tools change, often weekly or monthly. After 12 months you can renew at aibook.fun for $47 a year. Your pledge does not renew by itself.
How is AiBook.fun different from the book? The book is the fixed first edition. AiBook.fun holds the same workflows online and keeps them current, each with a version number and a "last updated" date.
Is the book useful if I'm not an accountant or financial advisor? Yes, if you advise clients. The main examples come from accounting and financial practices, and other chapters cover [TO FILL: other chapter subjects].
Do I need technical skills? No. Each workflow lists its tools and setup, and the Try-it uses sample data. If you can follow a checklist, you can run it.
Where is the Retreat, and are travel and lodging included? The Retreat is at [TO FILL: venue and city]. Travel and lodging are [TO FILL: included or not included].
Can I transfer my Retreat or Academy seat, and what if a date changes? [TO FILL: transfer and date-change policy]
How do I choose my Academy site? In the survey we send after the campaign. Seats are assigned in pledge order. If your first choice is full, you can choose another site or receive a refund of the Academy portion.
Do the Retreat or the Academy count for continuing-education credit? [TO FILL: "No", or the approved credit and the body that issues it]
Do you ship internationally? We ship to [TO FILL: list of countries]. Shipping and any taxes are calculated after the campaign in Kickstarter's Pledge Manager.
Can I add a paperback to a digital reward? Yes. Choose the signed paperback add-on when you pledge, or add it later in the Pledge Manager.
Can my firm buy several copies or seats? Yes. Email [TO FILL: contact email] and we will arrange it after the campaign.
Is the book available in other languages? The first edition is in English only.
Did you use AI to write the book? The authors use AI assistants for research and editing suggestions, and the workflows show real AI tool output, which is the subject of the book. Every chapter is written, checked, and approved by its named authors. See the Use of AI section.
Can I get a refund? [TO FILL: refund policy, matching the Risks section]
I missed the campaign. Can I still back it? Yes. Late pledges stay open on this page after the campaign ends, at slightly higher prices, for as long as we keep them open.

Part 4. Owner decisions
Every placeholder in this guide traces back to one of these decisions. Blocks submission and Blocks launch items stop the campaign; Blocks tier items stop only that reward.
A. Calendar and campaign rules
- Blocks launch. End date and time: fixed Wed 4 Nov, 8:00 PM ET (recommended); 33 days; or keep Tue 3 Nov.
- Blocks submission. Confirm the draft has been submitted for review.
- Who presses Launch on Fri 2 Oct at 6:00 AM ET (11:00 AM WAT).
- Blocks launch. If the campaign does not fund, does the Retreat still run with direct payment, or are those seats cancelled?
- Retreat pledge cutoff (suggested Fri 30 Oct).
- If launch slips to 9 Oct: keep the Retreat tier or sell seats outside Kickstarter.
- Refund policy (Risks section and FAQ).
- Update frequency after the campaign (suggested monthly).
- Confirm this is the team's first Kickstarter campaign.
B. Retreat
- Blocks tier. Retreat price.
- Blocks tier. Venue name, city, and photo.
- Inclusions, agenda (or its publication date), and the date joining instructions go out.
- Slim the Retreat tier (paperback as an add-on), or keep the paperback in it.
C. Academy
- Blocks tier. Confirm our team or a named collaborator delivers the BootCamp; otherwise leave the Academy off Kickstarter.
- Blocks tier. Academy price, cohort dates, and seats for each site.
- One Academy tier with site choice in the survey, or three site tiers.
- BootCamp description, format, hours, inclusions, and the Academy lead's name.
- Academy late pledges (on or off, price) and estimated delivery month.
D. Terms for Retreat and Academy
- Travel and lodging included or not, for each.
- Date-change, transfer, and refund terms, for each.
- Continuing-education credit: none, or the approved credit and its issuing body.
E. Book & Library tiers and add-ons
- Approve the six-tier structure (section 2.2).
- Blocks tier. Final paperback price, late pledge price, and any print-run limit; or launch without the paperback.
- Collector's extras: add-on (recommended) or $85 tier; price, limit, and which authors sign.
- Signed paperback add-on price.
- Keep the $47 gift add-on: yes or no.
- eBook delivery month, if earlier than January 2027.
- Renewal after 12 months (assumed: the backer renews at aibook.fun; the pledge does not renew).

F. Shipping and contact
- Shipping in the Pledge Manager after the campaign (recommended) or at pledge time.
- Countries, rates if charged at pledge, and where books ship from.
- Contact email for firm orders and backer support.
G. Story content

- Months spent writing (for the LinkedIn post).
- Give-back section: yes or no, and the organization.
H. Use of AI and environment
- AI tools used, and confirmation that AiBook.fun trains or ships no model of its own.
- Whether any campaign images used AI image tools.
- Environmental commitments (print approach, paper, mailers), or leave the section empty.
I. Profile, payment, and promotion
- Creator name: "WeOwnNet" or "BurnedOut Media / WeOwnNet".
- Blocks launch. Stripe verification: business or individual, US entity details and EIN, representative ID, beneficial owners, US checking account, backup card.
- Profile social links; collaborators' Kickstarter emails.
- Ad budget for 9 to 15 October, or $0; Kickbooster live or not.
- Hero video recorded by Mon 28 Sep, or added after launch.
Appendix A. How our page compares with Onryō
Onryō: First Seal (Lemery Games, Sarasota, Florida) is a Tabletop Games "Project We Love" with the same $5,000 goal as ours. It runs from 14 September to 8 October 2026, and on 25 September showed about $33,300 from about 2,370 backers, 20 FAQ entries, 3 updates, and 111 comments.
Its page leads with images: each section has an illustrated header and short text, and the proof is five reviewer videos and quotes from past backers. Our draft is text only, with no image, video, or rewards and an empty FAQ. We cannot copy Onryō's social proof, since this is our first campaign. We can copy its structure: a section for each question a backer has, a header graphic for each, a timeline, a plain shipping explanation, a real team section, stretch goals, and an FAQ that answers hard questions early.
| Onryō section | Our version |
|---|---|
| Welcome; Why love it?; The story | Sections 1 and 2: Welcome and Why this book |
| Japanese folklore (background) | Section 3: Who it's for |
| What's in the box? | Section 4: What's inside, with a workflow diagram |
| How to play?; Rulebook | Section 5: Try one workflow, a free public sample |
| Pay what you want guide | Section 6: Three ways to back, as one graphic |
| No equivalent | Sections 7 to 9: the Retreat; the Academy; Book & Library and AiBook.fun |
| Stretch goals; Timeline; Shipping | Sections 10 to 12 |
| Previews; Backer reviews | Section 13: Early readers, with written permission |
| Team; Special thanks | Sections 14 and 15 |
| Give back; Languages; Free shipping | Left out for launch |
| One pay-what-you-want reward from $1, with add-ons | Six fixed-price tiers with add-ons |
Appendix B. The reasoning behind the main recommendations
Why we do not copy Onryō's pay-what-you-want model. It suits one physical game sold to a large board-game audience that already backs campaigns. For us, a $1 entry point would set a public reference far below the approved $47 AiBook.fun price; Retreat and Academy seats have a real cost per person; and our audience, mostly new to Kickstarter, acts more easily on clear prices. "Pledge without a reward" already accepts any amount. The idea worth borrowing is Onryō's single explainer graphic.
Why submit by Monday 28 September. Kickstarter's help center says manual review usually takes up to about three business days, longer if changes are requested. The earlier plan assumed five to seven, which meant submitting by 23 September. On three days, Monday 28 September is the last safe day, and the page stays editable in review.
Other recommendations. The reasoning for six tiers, the fixed end date, the January eBook date, and the Pledge Manager is given where each is recommended, in sections 2.1, 2.2, and 2.9.
Kickstarter rules that affect our rewards.
- Rewards must be produced or delivered by the creator or collaborators, so the page must say who runs the Retreat and the Academy, and the Academy appears only if our team delivers the BootCamp.
- Rewards cannot offer financial returns, equity, raffles, or cryptocurrency, and the page must not suggest them (Appendix C).
- CKA® (Certified Kingdom Advisor) and CEPA® (Certified Exit Planning Advisor) belong to their issuing organizations. Do not imply their endorsement, or claim continuing-education credit unless it has been approved.
- A tier's price cannot change once someone backs it, so no tier goes live with a placeholder price.
Honest proof. With no past campaigns or reviews, and no invented testimonials or statistics, our proof is a free workflow anyone can run, named authors with photos, and early-reader quotes approved in writing.
Appendix C. Public copy scrub list
Search the story, rewards, FAQ, updates, video captions, and images for the following before submitting. None of them may appear on the public page, including in negative form.
| Remove | Use instead |
|---|---|
| NFT, token, mint, Web3, crypto, blockchain, wallet | "Digital Access Subscription" or "12 months of AiBook.fun access" |
| Equity, investment, returns, stake, shares (in the financial sense), ROI | A plain description of the reward |
| "Annual reprint" or "annual edition" for the library | "Updated as tools and models change, often weekly or monthly; $47 a year" |
| "Ai" in the book title | "AI" (the "Ai" spelling is only for AiBook.fun) |
| Raffle, giveaway, prize, contest | Not used |
| Past retreat names ("Colorado Summer", "St. Pete") | "Burned Out Advisor Retreat, 4 to 6 November 2026" |
| Unapproved prices, or "TBD" | A real price, or leave the tier out until it has one |
| Slogans such as "own it, not rent it" | A plain description of what the backer gets |
The current draft's book section says the library is "billed as a yearly digital access subscription — not an annual reprint and not a token." Replace the whole section with the Book & Library and AiBook.fun text in section 2.3.
Appendix D. What changed from version 1
- Structure: the guide opens with this week's decisions, follows the editor tab by tab, and moves the Onryō comparison and reasoning to appendices. It is about 13 percent shorter than version 1.
- Format: each reward is a card, the "Three ways to back" summary lists one price per line, and the 63 owner items are merged into 51 grouped items with blocking items marked.
- Corrections: the story editor has no table tool, so the story's tables are now lists; the alternative subtitle is 103 characters, not 102; Onryō's section list now includes "The story", and its figures are updated to 25 September.
